A group of Croatia's ichthyologists has recently visited Israel to
ask for 'Nasicki carp'.
Professor Zdravko Petrinec and a dozen directors of fishponds in
Croatia held several meeting with their Israeli colleagues and
requested th Israelis give this kind of carp back.
In the seventies, Israeli fishermen received 'Nasicki carp' from
Croatia and managed to maintain this species, while in Croatia this
kind of fish has been lost due to genetic cross-breeding.
Israelis promised to return the Nasicki carp to their homeland, but
they still do not know whether there are necessary conditions for
the breeding of this kind of fish in Croatia.
