"The U.S. Embassy in Zagreb welcomes Croatia’s donation of 15,000 rifles to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s Security Forces. In support of this contribution, a flight crew and aircraft from the 603rd Multi-National Heavy Airlift Wing, which includes members and aircraft of the United States Air Force, will transport the donated weapons to Afghanistan in the coming days," the embassy said in a statement.
"The U.S. Embassy would also like to congratulate Croatia for the successful training exercise it recently hosted in Rakitje for soldiers and police from Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia who are preparing to serve as mentors in Afghanistan."
"The United States values Croatia’s provision of training and equipment to Afghan security forces, which contributes directly to ISAF efforts to help Afghan forces assume greater responsibility for their country’s security," reads the statement.
