BELGRADE, Aug 26 (Hina) - Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Pavle is protecting Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic from the ICTY, said the coordinator of the G17 economists Mladan Dinkic. Just prior to a recent
opposition protest rally held in the country's capital Belgrade, the patriarch asked that Milosevic should not be sent to The Hague for this would mean the "trial of Serbia entirely". In an interview to Television Pancevo, which is currently the only independent TV station in Belgrade, Dinkic praised the Serb Orthodox Church for its condemnation of the Serb atrocities committed against Albanian nationals. Dinkic added that who ever is elected as the next president of Serbia should visit Vukovar, Sarajevo and Kosovo and publicly excuse the country for the crimes committed there.(hina) sp
