NEW INCIDENTS IN KOSOVO -- SERBS AND KFOR ATTACKED

PRISTINA, Aug 15 (Hina) - Three armed assailants opened fire at a German military police patrol in Prizren Saturday night, KFOR reported Sunday. A bullet hit a German MP, but, luckily, he was wearing a bullet- proof vest. According to preliminary findings, unidentified persons attempted to attack a Catholic church in Zjuma, near Prizren and interrupt a traditional religious manifestation. A body of an elderly woman was found stabbed in a house in Prizren, and another person stabbed in the eastern part of the town KFOR reported. Three Serb homes were set ablaze in the town Saturday night. UN Civil Mission representatives in Kosovo said a temporary municipal council was established in the Kosovo town Sunday. The council has representatives of all ethnic communities in the town. Four armed Serbs and four Albanians opened fire at each other in Pristina Saturday. Two Serbs were wounded in the conflict. French KFOR troops arrested one person and confiscated two weapons at the scene. KFOR sources said an elderly person of Serb nationality was found dead in the village of Pozarane Saturday night. He was apparently shot dead. KFOR arrested four Albanians in the village of Podgoce in eastern Kosovo, who are suspected of the murder of an Albanian and the wounding of his grandson. (hina) lml
