PRISTINA, Aug 7 (Hina) - A spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Pristina said on Saturday that agreement had been reached with the Macedonian Government on exempting international agencies from the obligation
to pay duties to pass the Macedonian border. The UNHCR spokesman, Ron Redmond, said international humanitarian organisations would not pay a duty of 640 German marks per truck for passing the border when they transport construction material to Kosovo. Since Tuesday, 86 UNHCR trucks and 14 wagons have been staying in Macedonia, as the Skopje government has asked for duties to be paid before the vehicles leave for Kosovo. In addition, about hundred lorries of other relief agencies are being blocked in front the frontier for the same reason.(hina) ms
