BUDISA SPEAKS OF STABILITY PACT AND ICTY CHARGES

ZAGREB, July 28 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), Drazen Budisa, on Tuesday said that a statement made on Monday by a prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in a case against Tihomir Blaskic, was to be expected, after the war in Bosnia was proclaimed an international conflict in the case against Bosnian Serb Dusko Tadic. A process against the Croatian President was also announced, Budisa said and stressed that the HSLS could not accept such orientation of the ICTY. The HSLS was critical of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) policy in Bosnia-Herzegovina from the beginning, however, Budisa stressed, it is one thing to give a political assessment of the HDZ policy and another to possibly open a court procedure for war crimes against a creator of this policy.
