KFOR BLOCKS AREA WHERE 14 SERBS WERE MASSACRED

PRISTINA, July 25 (Hina) - British Kosovo Force (KFOR) members on Sunday blocked the area around the southern Yugoslav province of Kosovo's village of Staro Gracko, where unidentified persons massacred 14 Serb farmers on Friday. The massacre was harshly condemned by Serbs, the international community and Albanian political and military leaders in Kosovo. Residents of the Serb-populated village of Staro Gracko accused Albanians of the massacre, however, the Kosovo Liberation Army leadership denied the accusations. So far, nobody has claimed responsibility for the massacre, which increased the tension in Kosovo. A KFOR spokesman said that, according to the autopsy of the bodies of 14 Serb farmers, the farmers have not been tortured before they were killed. On the other hand, KFOR commander Michael Jackson said the KLA completed the first stage of the disarmament process within the deadline set in an agreement between the KFOR and the KLA. Commander of the KLA Main Staff Agim Ceku said that a significant progress was achieved, adding that the KLA will fulfilled all obligations envisages in the agreement. (hina) it
