ZAGREB, July 16 (Hina) - The interstate diplomatic commission for
demarcation of the border line between Croatia and Bosnia-
Herzegovina on Friday met in Zagreb to finalise a treaty on the
frontier between the two countries, Croatian diplomatic sources
reported.
Last week, Croatia and Bosnia harmonised their views on the entire
1001-kilometre-long border line. Bosnian Serbs, however,
contested the agreement regarding about 30 hectares by the Una
river which belongs to the Croatian town of Hrvatska Kostajnica but
which is currently occupied by the Serbs.
On July 8 the Serb side demanded that the border line be established
on the middle of the course of the Una river in that area. The Office
of the international High Representative (OHR) managed to persuade
Bosnian Serbs to abandon such demands, during a meeting in Sarajevo
on Monday.
In case that today's meeting in Zagreb succeeds in finalising the
agreement on the frontier, the documents may be signed, according
to unofficial information, in the end of this month in Sarajevo,
prior to a Summit of the Stability Pact in Southeast Europe.
