At the March 25 session the Government forwarded draft amendments to the act on special duties on petroleum products into a parliamentary procedure. At the same session the Government defined draft amendments to the act on special duties on tobacco products and equalised taxes on domestic and imported cigarettes in line with laws of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). On that occasion Finance Minister Borislav Skegro claimed that an increase in special duties did not mean that retail prices should automatically rise. (One dollar is approximately 7.3 kuna.)
