ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Wednesday accepted a request of employees of the food-production industry Vupik from the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar, that their salaries four months back be paid, as well as
that they receive salaries regularly from September to the end of the year. Following several hours of talks, an agreement was reached between Stipe Hrkac on behalf of the Government, that is, the Croatian privatisation Fund, which is the owner of Vupik, and the president of the Alliance of Independent Unions of Croatia, Davor Juric, as well as representatives of the local and branch unions. The unionists informed some 200 Vupik employees about the success of the talks. The employees arrived in Zagreb from Vukovar with the intention to hold a protest rally in front of the Government building, but were stopped by police. They returned to their busses and headed for Vukovar. Around US$7.3

Around US$7.3 million will have to be set aside to pay the salaries
for Vupik employees.
The Government has also committed itself to discuss the programme
of rehabilitation and restructuring of Vupik at its session on July
1.
