ZAGREB, June 9 (Hina) - US Ambassador William Montgomery presented "Ron Brown Fellowship" certificates to five Croatians at a ceremony held at the US Embassy in Zagreb on Wednesday. The scholarship is awarded to the best
post-graduates or young people for MA studies at leading US universities. This year's winners of the "Ron Brown Fellowship" are Vedrana Carevic for business management, Nikolina Sajn for journalism, Marina Skrabalo for education and Mirjana Radic and Diana Topcic for social issues. The programme of granting scholarships to the best post-graduates from central and eastern Europe was started six years ago, and in 1996 it was named after US Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown, who was killed in a plane crash near Dubrovnik that year. In the past five years, about 130 scholarships were granted, of which 22 went to Croatian citizens.(hina) jn rml
