ZAGREB, May 28 (Hina) - The President of Croatia and Chief Commander of the Armed Forces, Franjo Tudjman, on Friday visited the "Croatia" barracks, where he attended a military exercise of the First Guard Brigade, called "Tigers".
Members of the brigade informed the President about the history, organisation and activities of the brigade, which was formed on October 5, 1990. The brigade took part in the most difficult battles of the Homeland War; 364 of its members were killed and 17 are still held missing, while 186 had been imprisoned in Serb camps and 1,711 had been wounded. Following the exercise, President Tudjman visited the brigade's technical-tactical corps. He then held a short speech and had lunch with members of the brigade.(hina) rml
