ECONOMY MINISTER MEETS LEADERS OF CROATIAN EMPLOYERS ASSOCIATION

ZAGREB, May 17 (Hina) - Croatian Economy Minister Nenad Porges held talks in Zagreb on Monday with the leaders of the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP) about the economic situation in Croatia. Representing HUP was president of the presidency, Branko Roglic and members of the presidency, member council president Eduard Noethig, and HUP maid director, Zeljko Ivancevic. After the two-hour closed talks, Porges said an agreement must be reached regarding elementary issues concerning the economy, stressing dialogue should evolve into three-hour talks by representatives of the Government, employers and unions. The HUP holds comprehensive changes to economy policy, unburdening the economy, a complex and high quality programme of solving the causes of illiquidity and a contingency plan for a development strategy. HUP president Roglic recalled HUP bodies had described positively the recent viewpoints by the state leadership about the economy recently stated by the Croatian President. Roglic held the so far prepared measures by the Croatian Government to solve illiquidity, contribution payments, employment stimulation, and the announced way of re-balancing the budget, did not guarantee a solution to serious and complex problems.
