ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - The air corridor Villach-Klagenfurt-Ilirska Bistrica-Pula-Ancona was opened at 7am on Thursday.This means that flights from Austria to Italian airports and further to the south would be shorter by some 20-30
minutes. Until the re-opening of the air corridor, planes flying from the direction of Austria to Italy had to make detours via Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, due to the closed air space of Yugoslavia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. This resulted in numerous delays, air traffic jams, increased transport costs and jammed air corridors in neighbouring countries, Croatian Transport Minister Zeljko Luzavec told a news conference in Zagreb on Thursday.
