CROATIAN FINANCIAL FORUM SCHEDULED FOR MID-MAY IN ZAGREB

ZAGREB, April 8 (Hina) - The fourth Croatian financial forum is to be held in Zagreb from 12 to 14 May this year, under the sponsorship of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) and the Zagreb stock market. The slogan of the forum, organised by the Infovest, provider of business and information services, is "your step toward new challenges of the third millennium. The event is to draw about 70 participants, the head of the project, Natasa Hrabar Kastelan, said at a news conference in Zagreb on Thursday. The participation has been confirmed by representatives of about 20 domestic and foreign banks, 18 firms in the information activities, eight broker houses, six publishers of newspapers and magazines and three financial-information service providers. Foreign firms which will be promoted this year are the London-based Banker Trust Company and Financial Times, and the Swissair air company. During the forum, participants will present their business results, financial products, innovations, new projects and technologies. On the first day of the Forum a round table will be held on the situation of Croatia's financial market and on challenges of the third millennium. Discussion on current events such as the coming reform of the pension system, privatisation of public companies will ensue after that. (hina) ms
