PODGORICA, March 27 (Hina) - The Government of Montenegro, one of the two republics that make up the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, said on Saturday it would not sever diplomatic relations with the United States, Great Britain,
France and Germany, after the federal government in Belgrade decided to discontinue the relationship with the West. Podgorica does not recognise the current federal government as legal and official. According to a statement released by the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry, Podgorica has not been informed of the decision of the Belgrade regime, and described such a move of the federal authorities as yet another step in the policy of confrontation. Montenegro advised the federal government to try to cease NATO air strikes by taking the path of the political resolution of the problem.
