SARAJEVO, March 5 (Hina) - The town of Brcko will not belong to either entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina. It will be a neutral district under the authority of central bodies of Bosnia-Herzegovina and under international supervision, the
international arbitration commission said in Sarajevo on Friday. Brcko is a town in the north of the country. Its residents before the war comprised mostly of Moslems and Croats. During the Homeland War in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bosnian Serbs occupied the town to create a corridor between their territory and FR Yugoslavia. The Dayton Agreement envisaged that the status of Brcko be determined by an arbitration commission because the two entities could not reach an agreement as to which entity this town should belong. According to the decision by the arbitration commission, the district principle will be applied for the whole Brcko municipality and will have its own multi-ethnic administration and parliament.(hin
