FOREIGN OFFICE CHANGES TRAVEL ADVICE FOR CROATIA

Unlike earlier instructions, a section of the text warning visitors about the presence of unexploded mines and ordnance in areas affected by war does not mention the term "Krajina". It also leaves out the part advising caution in "eastern Slavonia", for which it had been claimed that there was a possibility of continued tensions. Visitors are also advised to be cautious when carrying money as well as to seek medical advice about immunisation against tick-borne encephalitis. Great Britain also called on its citizens not to travel to and leave the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. A similar instruction was given for travels to Bosnia-Herzegovina, with advice for travellers to postpone all unnecessary travels to the Bosnian Serb entity of Republika Srpska and prepare for leaving the entity on short notice.
