ZAGREB, Feb 3 (Hina) - The number of workers in the Croatian industry dropped by 1.4 percent in December in comparison to November 1998 and by 5.6 percent in comparison to December of 1997. Worker productivity increased by 8.7
percent, according to the Croatian Statistical Office. In the mining there were 1.4 percent less workers in December than in November 1998 or 8.6 percent less than in December of 1997. The processing industry employed 1.5 percent less workers in December than in November last year or 6.1 percent less than in December of 1997. Worker productivity rose by 8.6 percent. The number of employees in the services for providing electricity, gas and water supplies fell by 0.9 percent in December in comparison to November of 1998 and rose by 1.5 percent in comparison to November 1998.
