ZAGREB, Jan 18 (Hina) - The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) established a headquarters for protecting workers' and shareholders' rights in companies which are creditors to trade company 'Diona', union
representatives told reporters on Monday. The headquarters includes SSSH president Davor Juric and the president of the Union of Agriculture, Food and Tobacco Industry, Josip Pavic, as well as union commissioners from sweet manufacturer 'Kras', the Karlovac brewery, the Zagreb brewery, Coca-cola, food manufacturers Koka, Vindija, and Podravka, and the Zagreb Tobacco Factory. 'Diona's' debt to these manufacturers exceeds US$80 million. workers' and shareholders' rights in companies which are creditors
to trade company 'Diona', union representatives told reporters on
Monday.
The headquarters includes SSSH president Davor Juric and the
president of the Union of Agriculture, Food and Tobacco Industry,
Josip Pavic, as well as union commissioners from sweet manufacturer
'Kras', the Karlovac brewery, the Zagreb brewery, Coca-cola, food
manufacturers Koka, Vindija, and Podravka, and the Zagreb Tobacco
Factory.

According to the unionists, the principal aim of the headquarters
is to protect the rights of 14,000 employed in 12 of 'Diona's'
largest creditors. The headquarters wishes to prevent 'Diona' from
bankrupting which, they say, would crash many other companies. The
suggestions is for the creditors to take over the management of
'Diona' by turning the company's debt into a share in ownership.
