WASHINGTON, Jan 14 (Hina) - Negotiations on concluding an agreement
on avoiding double taxation between Croatia and the United States
should be expedited, Croatian Ambassador to the US and assistants
to the US Finance Secretary, Mark Medich and Joseph Guttentag,
agreed during talks in Washington on Thursday.
They assessed that the development of economic relations and
cooperation between the two countries was on the incline,
particularly following last year's business agreements.
Business people from both countries are expecting double taxation
to be annulled by an agreement.
Zuzul also spoke with Medich and Guttentag about cooperation
between the US Finance Department and relevant Croatian bodies.
They announced a representative of the US Finance Department would
visit Croatia as part of regular consultations.
Croatian Central Bank governor Marko Skreb will visit the United
States soon where he will hold talks with representatives of the
American Finance Department.
