session, held behind the closed doors on Thursday, and forwarded
them to the Croatian National 'Sabor' (Parliament).
At the session chaired by Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa, the
government adopted three reports - a report on the work of the
commission for the detained and missing persons in the period from
September 26, 1997 to December 5, 1998, a report on the work of the
Government's commission for disabled persons and a report on the
course of the procedure of succession to the former Yugoslavia
(SFRY) and damage done to Croatia during the armed conflict (1990-
1995)- the Government's communications office said in a
statement.
The Government adopted a decree on the implementation of the
Agreement on Free Trade between Croatia and Slovenia.
Under the law on ratification of the amendment to the Montreal
protocol, the Government adopted a decree on substances causing
damage to the ozone layer. The decree proposes the gradual decrease
in the usage of substances that are harmful for the ozone.
The Government decided to conclude an agreement with the Czech
Republic on the cultural cooperation.
It accepted a programme for cooperation with Poland in high
education.
The Government initiated a procedure for the conclusion of
agreements on social insurance with Denmark and Australia.
The Government endorsed the candidacy of Croatian Health Minister
Zeljko Reiner for the regional director of the World Health
Organisation in Europe.
It appointed Marija Knezevic an assistant to Labour and Social
Welfare Minister.
