ZAGREB, Dec 15 (Hina) - Croatian Internet company Iskon and the
United States Trade and Development Agency (TDA) on Friday signed
an agreement in line with which Iskon Internet will be receiving
consulting services from the TDA worth US$190,000.
United States experts will draft plans for strategic and technical
development of the Internet.
The agreement was signed by Iskon Internet director Damir Sabol and
charge d'affaires in the US Embassy in Zagreb Charles English.
According to Sabol, the donation is very significant for the
further development of the company. He said the donation would help
the improvement of Iskon Internet services and the implementation
of new ones.
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is a non-governmental
organisation which assists in the creation of jobs for Americans by
helping U.S. companies pursue overseas business opportunities.
Through the funding of feasibility studies, orientation visits,
specialised training grants, business workshops, and various forms
of technical assistance, we enable American businesses to compete
for infrastructure and industrial projects in middle-income and
developing countries.
The TDA donation is understandable considering that American
investment company Adriatic Net Investors is a 51-percent owner of
Iskon Internet.
