ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - The Croatian National Parliament House of Representatives on Thursday unanimously adopted amendments to the Penal Code, despite the fact the Social Democratic Party insisted the possession of narcotics be
treated as a misdemeanour rather than a crime. Although it had been previously moved that the possession of drugs be treated as a misdemeanour, the government omitted the provision from the draft in the third reading, assessing it could bring into question the adoption of the bill. The SDP insisted in its motion, suggesting an amendment which was subsequently refused by the government and then the Lower House.(hina) lml
