ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament's House of Counties on Monday supported a legal document which should regulate the standards for ecological production. The Upper House also discussed a government's bill on police
forces. Representatives are to voice their opinions at the end of the question time. The Committee for the Constitution and Rule Book failed to endorse the bill, claiming that, in accordance with the bill, the police have too much authorities. This particularly goes to a regulation in line with which the police have the right to detain a person and keep the person in custody indefinitely, which is contradictory to the Constitution and Law on Criminal Proceedings. Parliamentary benches of the Croatian Peasants' Party and Social liberal Party supported the legal document. Representatives of the Croatian Democratic Union are to voice their opinion after a break.(hina) it
