LJUBLJANA, Dec 6 (Hina) - The Slovene Foreign Ministry on Wednesday commented on the bringing of Jozko Joras before the customs violations court in Croatia's southern port of Pula, stressing he was a Slovene citizen whose interests,
if necessary, would continue to be preserved in line with diplomatic practice. The Slovene Ministry said in its statement it had been informed on Tuesday that Croatian organs had forcefully taken Joras to court in Pula, and had immediately suggested to the Slovene Consul in Zagreb to provide all assistance for Joras. Joras is a citizen of Slovenia who lives in the village of Mlini on the Croatian side of the border. Last Thursday he refused to pay customs tariff for a washing machine he was bringing across the border to his home, and refused to appear before the court which summoned him for customs violation.
