PULA, Dec 1 (Hina) - "Safe Skies", a joint exercise of the Croatian Air Force and the sixth fleet of the U.S. Navy from the USS "George Washington" aircraft carrier ended in the northern Adriatic port of Pula on Friday. The exercise,
which began on Monday, consisted of 120 flights, or 140 hours of flying, performed by six U.S. F-18 and three F-14 jets and ten Croatian MIGs 21. The joint exercise achieved its objective, the commander of the U.S. forces, Lt. Col. Thomas Meadows, said today, adding it had been good training for U.S. pilots in low and navigation flying and low interception. Lt. Col. Marin Puh, the coordinator of the Croatian Air Force's flying exercises, said this had been the biggest exercise performed this year and that he was satisfied with the result.
