PODGORA, Nov 26 (Hina) - The total damage caused by yesterday's storm and flood which hit Podgora, a sea-side resort some 70 kilometres south-east of Split, is estimated at some four million kuna (about US$450,000). A municipal
official said the storm had caused extensive damage on housing and business facilities prompting the Split County prefect to declare a state of natural disaster. A municipal commission for damage assessment is inspecting water and sewage pipelines, which have been damaged, as well as local roads, shops, houses, hotels and restaurants in Podgora and nearby municipalities. A road-maintenance company is removing mudslides and stones from the Adriatic Highway, which is overlooking Podgora. On some parts of the Highway, vehicles are driving in one lane only.(hina) rml
