"Zagreb and Croatia see the holding of our conference as an acknowledgement, but also as an obligation," Mesic said welcoming the chiefs of state or government of 15 EU member states and countries covered by the Stabilisation and Association Process - Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania, and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The biggest statesmen conference in Croatian history is co-chaired by Mesic and French President Jacques Chirac, whose country presides the EU.
