will be representing his country at the Zagreb Summit, to take place
on November 24 in the Croatian capital.
The Slovene minister said on Thursday the Slovene president and
foreign minister had been invited to the summit but it was decided
that only the foreign minister should travel because Slovenia's
proposal that the summit give more emphasis to the succession to the
former Yugoslav federation did not receive sufficient support.
Peterle added Slovenia supported the European Union's idea on the
stabilisation and association of countries in the region.

The Zagreb Summit will gather 25 delegations, including 15 European
Union representatives, five countries in the process of
stabilisation and association with the EU, Slovenia, which is an
associate EU member, the EU's high representative for foreign and
security issues, Javier Solana, High Representative for Bosnia-
Herzegovina Wolfgang Petritsch, Stability Pact Coordinator Bodo
Hombach, and the head of the U.N. Mission in Kosovo, Bernard
Kouchner.
