PARIS, Nov 22 (Hina) - Granting an interview to Croatian Television (HTV) on Wednesday, French President Jacques Chirac disclosed one interesting information saying that he translated Aleksandr Pushkin's "Eugene Onegin" into French when he was a young man but was unable to find a publisher to print his translation.#L# I have given up plans to publish it as the office of the president must not be used for the publication of bad translations, Chirac admitted. "It cannot be said that I translated Pushkin; I only translated 'Eugene Onegin', and it is a small part of his entire work," Chirac said to the question whether he intended to publish his translation. Chirac translated that work of Pushkin when he was twenty. He conceded that the translation was not of high quality and that no publisher wanted to take it. Chrac, in his capacity of European Union chairman, on Friday will take part in the Zagreb Summit of heads of state or government of 15 EU member-countries and countries covered by the EU's Stabilisation and Association process.
