"Our expectations are coming through. We are expressing the wish to
initiate the day after the (Nov. 24) Zagreb Summit the process which
will result in Croatia's coming before membership, and in a few
years membership in the European Union," said Minister Tonino
Picula.
Croatia's candidacy for membership in the EU is a big obligation, he
asserted. "We should perform a national mobilisation, people must
realise what it means to be a member of the Union. The changes which
will have to take place in this country beforehand won't be easy,
but without them we are not in the Union."
