Protection of the Dignity of the Homeland Defence War.
The Main Headquarters announced the protest over Yugoslav
President Vojislav Kostunica's participation in the Zagreb
Summit.
Tomac said Kostunica's arrival was not a bilateral visit to
Croatia. The protest "would be a failure which would play in the
hands of those who want to say that we Croats are the same as those
who had attacked us," he said in the eastern town of Vukovar, where
he took part in the marking of a remembrance day for Vukovar victims
killed by the Serb aggressor nine years ago today.
Earlier today, the president of the Main Headquarters, Mirko
Condic, said in Vukovar all headquarters resumed with sessions as
of today and would continue until "the danger of fraternisation
with Serbia is over."
He stressed the members on the Main Headquarters most strongly
objected to Kostunica's attendance at the Zagreb Summit.
Headquarters for the protection of Croatia's early 1990s war of
independence from the former Yugoslav federation were established
in September following the arrest of a dozen persons suspected of
war and other crimes, among whom had been members of the armed
forces and participants in the Homeland War. They discontinued a
month of daily sessions after parliament adopted a declaration on
the war.
