SLAVONSKI BROD, Oct 30 (Hina) - The first monument to children killed in last decade's Serb aggression on Croatia was unveiled on Monday in front of the Hugo Badalic elementary school in the eastern town of Slavonski Brod.
Twenty-eight children from Brod-Posavina County were killed in Croatia's early 1990s war of independence from the former Yugoslav federation. Attending the unveiling were parents and relatives, representatives of local authorities, and numerous guests. Unveiling the monument, the president of the local women's organisation Hrvatska zena, Zdenka Bosnjak, said the monument should be a lasting reminder that similar crimes must not happen again.
