SARAJEVO, Oct 29 (Hina) - The New Croat Initiative (NHI) party on
Sunday denounced the decision of "a group f right-wing political
parties" to organise a referendum of Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina,
and refuted claims that any of its party members had participated at
Saturday's assembly held in Novi Travnik.
"The group of rightist nationalist political parties in Novi
Travnik proclaiming itself the Croatian People's Assembly,
represents the latest attempt of the Croatian Democratic Union of
Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) party to detour attention from its own
incapability and catastrophic mistakes ahead of elections," the
NHI said in a statement Sunday.
The party warned the HDZ BiH's tactics was to divide its sins among
others after a period during which it had taken it as a right to
represent all Croats in the country.
The NHI sees the meeting in Novi Travnik as an attempt for all
problems to be solved in an inadequate manner, by calling a
referendum which can change nothing, following views opposing the
equality of peoples in Bosnia-Herzegovina as the HDZ BiH had done.
The background is the HDZ's effort to divide the country and
establish a third entity within it, the NHI asserted.
The party announced it would direct its political actions towards
implementing the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia-
Herzegovina on the constitutiveness of all peoples in the country
because "instead of holding a referendum, the Croat people need to
have secured a roof over their heads, material security and a
future".
