RIJEKA, Oct 19 (Hina) - Two persons from a group suspected of war crimes committed against civilians in the central Croatian town of Gospic in 1991, Ivan Jovanovic and Joso Miletic, on Thursday decided not to stand mute and gave
thorough statement to the investigation judge in the northern Adriatic city of Rijeka pleading not guilty. Jovanovic's and Miletic's defence attorney Velimir Dosen said his clients did not put blame to other indictees either. Miletic and Jovanovic are two of the five persons from a group arrested in mid September in Gospic under the suspicion they participated in illegal arrests and murders of Serb civilians in the Gospic region in 1991. They are suspected of executing civilians following the order of the first indictee, general Tihomir Oreskovic.
