RIJEKA, Oct 12 (Hina) - The Rijeka County court Thursday extended custody for Tihomir Oreskovic and four other suspects of war crimes from Gospic. The suspects have been charged with having committed war crimes against Serb civilians
in Croatia's central town of Gospic in 1991, during Croatia's war of independence. Their defence attorneys said their custody was extended for fear of an obstruction of the investigation process by influencing witnesses, and because of the gravity of the crimes the suspects have been charged with. The defence counsel will on Friday file an appeal to the Supreme Court against the custody extension. The trial continues tomorrow with the testimonies of two new witnesses.
