ZAGREB, Oct 17 (Hina) - The average price of apartments in Croatia in the first half of this year was 8,749 kuna (some US$1,017) per square metre, which is a 0.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year. According to the
Croatian Institute for Statistics, this is a 6.7 percent decrease compared to the second half of 1999 and a 2.8 percent decrease as against the price of flats throughout last year. In the first half of this year 505 apartments with an area of 29,111 square metres were sold in Croatia. The price of flats in the capital Zagreb was 9,603 kuna (US$1,116) per square metre, which is a 1.2 percent decrease compared to last year. A total of 330 flats have been sold in Zagreb this year. Compared to the second half of last year, the price of flats dropped by 5.5 percent whereas the decrease as against the whole last year was 3.4 percent.(hina) jn rml
