The HNB Council, which today held a session under the chairmanship
of HNB Governor Zeljko Rohatinski, discussed the latest economic
and monetary movements and adopted a monetary projection for this
year's last trimester, the HNB reported.
The Council analysed in detail price growth indicators for
September and concluded that, should such a movement of prices
continue, the central bank would have to, without reluctance, take
certain measures of monetary policy.
According to data provided by the State Bureau of Statistics,
retail prices in September rose by 1.2 percent against August.
Retail prices in September were 6.6 percent higher than last
December and 7.1 percent higher than last September, the State
Bureau of Statistics said.
