HSS PRESIDENCY SUPPORTS MINISTER PECEK AND STRUGAR'S WORK
ZAGREB, Oct 7 (Hina) - The Presidency of one of the ruling
coalition's six parties, Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS), on
Saturday expressed satisfaction with the work of HSS officials in
the executive authority, but also dissatisfaction with the work of
HSS members of Parliament, as well as with the cooperation of MPs
with county and local organisations of the party.
The HSS Presidency convened in Zagreb Saturday behind closed doors
to discuss issues important for the party's future work.
HSS president Zlatko Tomcic informed reporters the Presidency had
unanimously supported HSS members in the government, assessing
they were handling problems in ministries well.
The ministers of education and workmanship, Vladimir Strugar and
Zeljko Pecek, have the support of their party, Tomcic asserted. I
have information the Prime Minister has confidence in them, he
added.
Despite all the material restrictions, it is the party's stance
that Minister Pecek had achieved envious results. A fault of his
ministry is that it was insufficiently presenting its work to the
public.
Minister Strugar also received full support from the party. The HSS
supports his efforts in the reform of education, which is just the
beginning of his work, Tomcic said.
He dismissed claims that the coalition of six parties was
functioning from crisis to crisis, that it was dealing too much with
its own problems and frustrations.
The coalition is functioning well. There are misunderstandings,
but it would be illogical for us to function ideally. I am certain
the coalition will overcome all problems successfully, Tomcic
asserted.
