VUKOVAR, Oct 4 (Hina) - New museologist concepts and the realisation of permanent museum exhibitions in the Croatian Danube River region was the subject on Wednesday's round-table conference held in Vukovar as part of the forum of a
working community of Danube River basin regions. Participants discussed the presentation of museum exhibits by the principle of monument and art value, as well as primary and secondary presentation of material within museums, such as using catalogues, CD-roms and other forms of digital documentation and presentations. Director of the Vukovar City Museum, Ruzica Maric, recalled war destruction and great damage done to the Eltz castle in 1991, in which the museum is located. Museum collections have for a large part been destroyed or stolen,
and a part of it is currently in museums in Yugoslavia which the
Croatian culture and foreign ministries are trying to return to
their rightful place, Maric stressed.
