ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - The Presidency of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) called on Croatian President Stipe Mesic to reconsider and withdraw his decision on the retirement of seven Croatian Armed Forces generals. The HDZ
assessed the decision rendered the Armed Forces leaderless and endangered the security of the Croatian State, HDZ president Ivo Sanader told Hina Friday night after a closed HDZ Presidency session. Sanader announced the HDZ would, following Saturday's session of the party's Main Committee, issue a manifesto for the Croatian people and public. "The HDZ calls on Croatian generals and on the public to be reasonable, cool-headed and peaceful, and to refrain from any acts which would jeopardise the State's internal political stability," Sanader told reporters.(hina) lml jn
