MEMBERS OF CRO FARMERS' ASSOCIATION WITHDRAW FROM ROADS TOO

SLAVONSKI BROD, Sept 25 (Hina) - Farmers from Slavonski Brod- Posavina County, who blocked county roads in cooperation with the Croatian Farmers' Association on Monday, have withdrawn from the roads because the payment of a part of the purchased wheat has started, the association's president Darko Grivicic said. Grivicic hoped the wheat would soon pa paid for and warned the farmers would not refrain from blocking the roads again should they not receive money for their wheat. According to Grivicic's information, farmers blocked the roads with about 100 tractors. Between 9 am and noon today, members of the county farmers association joined the road blockade on four locations - Vrpolje, Luzani, and the highway and border crossing Slavonski Brod- Bosanski Brod. According to Grivicic, representatives of the association would tomorrow hold talks with Agriculture Minister Bozidar Pankretic. Today's protest meeting of Croatian farmers is the third one in the last month. The first two were organised only by the Slavonija- Baranja Farmers' Association whereas the Croatian Farmers' Association joined in today's protest meeting. (hina) rml
