ZAGREB, Sept 21 (Hina) - A book by Zagreb Law School professor Ivo
Josipovic, entitled "The Hague Criminal Implementation Law", was
presented in Zagreb on Wednesday. This is the first work dealing
with criminal implementation law and the question of regulations
defining Croatia's cooperation with The Hague-based war crimes
tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY), it was said at the
presentation at Zagreb's Law School.
The book, published by 'Informator' publishing company and the
Croatian Legal Centre, is written in Croatian and English.
It systematically deals with all regulations, both Croatian and
international, which regulate the cooperation between Croatian
judicial bodies and The Hague tribunal, Deputy Justice Minister
Ranko Marijan said.
Josipovic's starting point is that it is possible to divide the law
from politics, law professor Davor Krapac said, adding the book
defined the obligations of states and the war crimes tribunal.
Josipovic also writes about the implementation of the
Constitutional Law on Cooperation with the ICTY as well as Croatian
implementation regulations and the origins of the ICTY law.
This is the second book which deals with the largest part of the ICTY
law for the territory of former Yugoslavia. The first publication,
"The International Criminal Court for War Crimes on the Territory
of Former Yugoslavia", was published in 1995 by the Croatian
Helsinki Committee and Croatian Legal Centre, said Krapac.
