ZAGREB, Sept 13 (Hina) - The questioning of Tihomir Oreskovic and other persons taken to a Gospic investigating judge this morning, has not yet started, Oreskovic's defence lawyer Zeljko Dumancic told Hina at about noon on Wednesday.
Dumancic added that he and his client Oreskovic were at the police station by 05.00 am Wednesday and that they were now awaiting the interrogation by the investigating judge at the Gospic county court. The lawyer could not said with what his client was charged, and said he expected that the interview with the investigating judge would end in two or three hours. Dumancic could not confirm names of the other apprehended persons who were also taken to the investigating judge this morning. Following Tuesday's broad operation the Croatian Interior Ministry
and the military police carried out when they apprehended a dozen
persons on suspicion that they were implicated in the assassination
of ICTY witness Milan Levar and in war crimes, five persons were
taken to an investigating judge of the Gospic-based county court at
about 11.00 am Wednesday.
According to unofficial information, 12 persons were arrested on
Tuesday in Zagreb, Karlovac and Gospic.
A spokesman for the Zagreb police told reporters today that
Croatian Interior Minster Sime Lucin ordered a news embargo about
Tuesday's police operation..
