The Ministry reported Friday Italian scientists dealing with the
research and protection of whales in the Mediterranean, supported
the efforts of Croatian experts to leave the whales undisturbed so
they could find their way back to the open sea.
The opinions of Croatian and Italian experts was confirmed by
experts from the American College of the Atlantic.
The two huge sea mammals, probably a mother and its offspring,
belong to the species of the great whale and are completely harmless
for humans so there is no room for panic, experts said. They feed on
plankton and small fish and they most probably arrived to the
Adriatic from the Ligurian Sea.
