visiting the world's leading power with which we have friendly relations, and our task is to convince the American side that we are a zone of safety and a law-based state, as well as that it is worth investing into Croatia," Mesic told reporters at Zagreb airport before his departure. Mesic and Racan will meet US President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and Secretaries of Defence and the Treasury William Cohen and Lawrence Summers respectively.
