ALBANIAN PRIME MINISTER MEETS CRO PRESIDENT, PARLIAMENTARY OFFICIAL

ZAGREB, Aug 2 (Hina) - Croatian-Albanian relations are very good and both countries are oriented toward Euro-Atlantic associations and have similar views regarding the situation in the region, Croatian President Stipe Mesic and Albanian Prime Minister Ilir Meta said in Zagreb on Wednesday. "Political relations between Croatia and Albania are excellent and we want the economic relations to be at the same level," Mesic said after meeting Meta, who is on a two-day visit to Croatia. Meta said the new democratic forces in Albania represented a guarantee that all issues which were discussed with Croatian hosts would be successfully resolved. The Albanian official expressed his satisfaction with Mesic's support for the annulment of the visa regime between the two countries. Commenting on the situation in Montenegro, Mesic said he supported the Montenegrin government in its efforts to take its own path toward Europe. Speaking about the possibility of a new conflict in the region due to changes to the Yugoslav constitution, Mesic said the international community would tolerate no new 'war adventure' after the NATO campaign in Kosovo. "Milosevic can now expect a crisis in Serbia and he won't be able to control it any more," Mesic said. Meta today also met the chairman of the Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, Zdravko Tomac. (hina) rml
