ZAGREB, July 28 (Hina) - The Zagreb County Court on Friday accepted in part an appeal submitted by attorney Zvonimir Hodak against a court decision on the detention of and investigation against his client Pavo Zubak, the owner of
'Auto Centar Zubak' car-dealer and a co-owner of 'Vecernji List' daily. Hodak explained the court has withdrawn its ruling that Zubak remain in custody for one month due to the way he carried out the criminal act and due to the particularly aggravating circumstances, however, it has decided that Zubak should remain in custody so that he could be prevented from influencing witnesses or tampering with evidence. The court refused Hodak's appeal against the investigation against his client and the investigation will be conducted against Zubak, who is charged with forging a contract with the German company Volkswagen and abusing his office in business operations thus realising an illega
ZAGREB, July 28 (Hina) - The Zagreb County Court on Friday accepted
in part an appeal submitted by attorney Zvonimir Hodak against a
court decision on the detention of and investigation against his
client Pavo Zubak, the owner of 'Auto Centar Zubak' car-dealer and a
co-owner of 'Vecernji List' daily.
Hodak explained the court has withdrawn its ruling that Zubak
remain in custody for one month due to the way he carried out the
criminal act and due to the particularly aggravating
circumstances, however, it has decided that Zubak should remain in
custody so that he could be prevented from influencing witnesses or
tampering with evidence.
The court refused Hodak's appeal against the investigation against
his client and the investigation will be conducted against Zubak,
who is charged with forging a contract with the German company
Volkswagen and abusing his office in business operations thus
realising an illegal gain of 33.5 million kuna.
Hodak said witnesses should start giving statements next week.
