ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - Croatian Minister for European Integration Ivan Jakovcic is to participate in a meeting of the association of agencies for local democracies called the regional programme for the development and stability in
South and East Europe to be held in Venice on July 15, under the auspices of the Council of Europe. The meeting aims at pointing out the significance of local and regional authorities as mechanisms for the promotion of democracy and the participation of a civil society in the building of Europe founded on human rights and the respect of the rights of minorities, the Croatian Ministry for European Integration said in a statement. At the meeting, Minister Jakovcic is to hold a lecture called "The Challenge of European Integration for Croatia", during which he will speak of so far achievements and plans of the Croatian Government in the field of European integration
